TVOD (Transactional video on demand)

Transactional Video on Demand (TVOD) is a business model for delivering over-the-top (OTT) content in which users do not subscribe but instead pay for access to individual content, such as movies or live events.

TVOD can be divided into two models:

Electronic Sell-Through (EST): the user purchases the content and retains permanent access.
Rental: the user rents the content and has access to it for a limited period.

In Belgium, a well-known example of Transactional Video on Demand (TVOD) is Proximus Pickx, where users pay for each movie or event they want to watch.
